It was afternoon delight at the recent Conversation with Kate Legge hosted by WPW and the Shoreham Community Association (SCA) at Shoreham Community Hall, a sweet heritage building that started life as a schoolroom. And books were on the menu as we listened to a warm, open, at times funny, always honest conversation between Belinda Hawkins and Kate Legge on her beautiful memoir, Delicious, which is filled with stories of a rich life and tributes to friends and loved ones who have sustained Kate, and the recipes they’ve gifted her. An illuminating dialogue between these two talented journalists and storytellers, with its themes of food, friendship, love, infidelities and achieving acceptance.

The event was a celebration of the launch of the WPW26 Festival Program, and to mark the occasion the amazing SCA team turned on a feasting table laden with mouthwatering treat, based on recipes straight from Delicious. With Baillieu sparkling to make the celebrations swing! What a fabulous, generous spread, enjoyed in the last rays of winter sun

The book sales table was a next-level piece of art, recreating the cover of Delicious – clever Chantelle from Petersen’s Bookstore working her magic.

Thanks to so many for their support and helping make it such a perfectly delicious day: the SCA and WPW teams, Baillieu Vineyards and Merricks General Store, Chan at Petersen’s Bookstore, Tilly Fay for the gorgeous recipe cards, and Emily at the newest flower farm gate in Balnarring – Sunningdale Blooms.
