Western Port Writes ...

Western Port Writes ...

Western Port Writes (WPW) is a biennial literary festival based in the Western Port region of the Mornington Peninsula, held in Somers and surrounds. Designed to celebrate creativity and the art of the story, it showcases established and emerging writers connected to our region and beyond. Our hugely enjoyable and successful inaugural festival was held in 2024.

Returning in 2026
We’re excited to announce that the Western Port Writes Literary Festival is returning in 2026. We’re gathering a fabulous lineup of authors and storytellers at our festival base, Coolart Wetlands & Homestead, on the weekend of October 10 & 11 2026. We hope you’ll be there too!

We’re thrilled to announce our first event for 2026. To celebrate our second Literary Festival, we’re launching the festival year with something special.

On Saturday 30 May we are excited to host a Dinner with Lisa Millar. It’s going to be a night of fabulous journalistic storytelling (and some doggie tales!). We hope you can join us. Find out more and book here.
