An afternoon of book chat.
Join us for an afternoon of conversation at beautiful Stonier Winery with bestselling authors Anne Buist and Graeme Simsion, as they chat about their latest book, The Oasis.
This is the second novel in their groundbreaking Menzies Mental Health series, which examines mental health through a fiction lens, with ‘humanity and humour’. The Oasis follows in the footsteps of The Glass House and is set in an acute psychiatric ward at the fictitious Menzies Hospital. Trainee psychiatrist Dr Hannah Wright, keen to develop her skills in ‘talking therapies’, must navigate demanding colleagues, personal demons, and her patients’ health issues range from OCD to ice addiction, childhood abuse to the impact of ageing, and bad parenting to bad genes.

Professor Anne Buist is chair of Women's Mental Health at the University of Melbourne and author of the psychological thrillers, Medea's Curse, Dangerous to Know and This I Would Kill For. Dr Graeme Simsion is the internationally bestselling author of The Rosie Project Trilogy.
