When you make friends with books, you’re enriching your life. For reading not only helps us make sense of the world around us, it also allows us to retreat from it when we need to or remain connected through story. When we embrace diversity in storytelling, we offer readers a window through which to explore a different culture, viewpoint or voice, or a mirror to reflect their own lived experience.
