Mike Hast is a book editor, publishing consultant and journalist based on the Mornington Peninsula. He has worked on suburban, metropolitan and national newspapers and magazines, and in book publishing. He worked on most of Melbourne’s major daily and weekly newspapers except The Age, for which he produced books for its famous Insight investigative unit. He was associate publisher at Macmillan (now Pan Macmillan) and co-founded two book publishing houses that pioneered use of computers and the internet. He has edited dozens of books, many for self-publishers, and ghost-written three autobiographies.
