Kate Mildenhall is the author of SKYLARKING (2016) and THE MOTHER FAULT (2020) and THE HUMMINGBIRD EFFECT (2023). For the past six years she has co-hosted The First Time podcast with Katherine Collette, interviewing hundreds of writers including Tim Winton, Helen Garner, Richard Flanagan, George Saunders, Charlotte Wood and many more.

Kate lives on Wurundjeri lands in Hurstbridge with her partner and two children. She is currently undertaking a PhD in creative process at RMIT University and working on her fourth novel. In 2024 she will release her first picture book.
