Cathy Gowdie’s 2009 book, Foxeys Hangout: The story of one family’s vineyard dream, describes her family’s move to the Peninsula to plant a vineyard, and the day-to-day realities of life at a working winery. Foxeys began farming some of its Peninsula vineyards biodynamically in 2007 and the winery has since become the region’s first to gain full organic-biodynamic certification. Cathy continues to write about wine and food for national newspapers and magazines; and her economic and geopolitical project work has included reports on the impacts of climate change for energy and agriculture.
