Now in its sixth year, the awards celebrate and support local emerging writers of all abilities across the Mornington Peninsula. If you’re aged 8 or over, start writing your story.
Once again, Western Port Writes is thrilled to be the Shortlist Committee Partner for 18+ entries. The judging panel comprises notable writers Coral Vass (8-12); Megan Rogers (13-17); Sophie Laguna, Brendan James Murray and Jaclyn Crupi (Adults 18+).

Categories & Prizes
Ages 8–12: 500 words – $500 + bookstore vouchers
Ages 13–17: 1000 words – $800 + bookstore vouchers
Adults (18+): 2000 words – $2,000, bookstore voucher + two-week Police Point Artist Residency
