Western Port Writes (WPW) is an inaugural three-day literary festival focused on Western Port.
Designed to celebrate creativity and reignite community connection, it is a unique opportunity for locals to attend writing and reading forums featuring talented writers connected to our region. It will showcase both established and emerging writers, exploring local themes and stories.
There are very few creative writing events in the Western Port region. WPW is a volunteer-run, community-focused festival designed to increase arts access on Western Port – to gather and platform our local writing talent. Attendees are expected from across and beyond the Peninsula. WPW will invite locals to be part of a festival volunteer force.
For the community, WPW is a chance to attend a weekend of literature in their backyard – for the first time. Designed to be ‘local’ it will be an accessible festival held in special places that locals know and love. It invites readers to meet writers and hear stories with a link to Western Port and the Peninsula.
