Western Port Writes is looking for volunteer members for our festival committee.
Committee members play a vital role maintaining and growing our festival and representing the wishes of our community to ensure we are relevant to all audiences.
Western Port Writes celebrates storytelling and showcases established and emerging writers connected to our region and beyond. We believe storytelling fosters empathy and understanding, preserves culture and drives change. After our successful inaugural festival in September 2024, collaborative events in 2025, Western Port Writes’ main festival will return in 2026.
Complementary skill sets we would love are marketing; event or arts festival logistics; volunteer coordination; sponsorship; social media; design. Or surprise us, we are all ears.
What you get: a sense of fulfilment knowing you are contributing to Western Port’s literary and creative scene; new skills; new friends; and a ‘behind the scenes’ experience of a writer’s festival.
Depending on the role the volunteer hours amount to approx’ 5 hours per week preceding the October 2026 festival (date to be confirmed), and attend periodic committee meetings, mostly via Zoom and communications by email and Google Drive.
To find out more email us (hello@westernportwrites.com.au) and we’re happy to chat or send your EOI with a brief outline of your skills by October 17.
We’d love to hear from you.
