Do you have a story to tell?

This year the Shire presents the fifth year of the Mayor’s Short Story Writing Awards and for the second year we are thrilled to be partnering with the shortlist Committee to judge the 18+ entries.

The Awards aim to encourage and support Mornington Peninsula writers of all abilities, to celebrate our diverse talent, showcase local stories and voices and make our community come alive.

Do you have a story to tell?

Local writers aged 8 and up are being called to share their voices.

Entries opened earlier this month and close 30 June at 11:59pm.

The judging panel comprises notable writers Barry Reynolds, Else Fitzgerald, Monica Dux, Sam-Ellen Bound and Coral Vass.

Three age categories, attracting prizes up to $1000, book vouchers, a Police Point residency and your story published in Mornington Peninsula Magazine! @mornpenmag

The Shire is proudly funding the prize money and the residency at Police Point, while bookstore vouchers have been generously donated by local businesses including Antipodes Bookshop & Gallery, Farrells Bookshop, Petersen’s Bookstore and Rosebud Book Barn.
